Why?

Alfajores are a symbol for me of a defining moment when I decided that the best way to become a better human was to be inclusive and open to all cultures and people and their choices. A choice that I made at 9 years old led me on a journey that circled the globe and led me to live and love so many different cultures far away from my own. Alfajores are a well-loved treat for so many cultures and they symbolize for me the inclusivity and joy that many cultures were eager to share with me. They are best described as a cookie-sandwich with a creamy dulce de leche filling, that can be rather difficult to resist once you try your first one.
